The Good Ship Sanda

Around the world or bust
Home      About us
Our Boat is named after Sanda (Scottish Gaelic: Sandaigh) a small privately owned island in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, off the southern tip of the Kintyre peninsula, near Southend and Dunaverty Castle.

Sanda was surveyed before we purchased her, but a lot was missed by the surveyor mainly dry rot to both masts and hydraulic steering broken.
It all started when a chunk of exhaust manifold was missing. Then it was downhill all the way.
We found the last one in the UK from PGE Services Ltd Manchester and met up with Mr Gardner.
That was over a year ago, repairs have been delayed due to the surveyor being slow or not replying at all to us. It looks like it’s going to court.

We were hoping to take the opportunity to raise funds for two charities.
  1. Army Benevolent Fund-which helps service men and women, also their families and smaller charities.
  2. Cancer Research-which affects us all in some way in our life time.
We are planning a circumnavigation starting from Ipswich heading towards the Mediterranean.
At this time we have no departure date or intended route, will keep you posted.

We are not promoting for Donations until we have a Date of departure.

If you would like to make a donation anyway please go to the above link (Our Charities).
